Historical Milestones
1884
Originally employed as a porcelain painter, Christoph Krautheim founded his own porcelain painting business in 1884, which his brother-in-law Richard Adelberg joined as co-owner four years later. The porcelain painting business was one of the largest and most important in Germany and became a supplier to the Royal Bavarian Court.
1912
In 1912, Christoph Krautheim founded his own porcelain factory, Krautheim & Adelberg. After his death in 1933, his son Richard continued to run the company. In 1977, the factory went bankrupt.
1978
In 1978, Bohemia Cristal acquired the buildings of the former Christoph Krautheim porcelain factory in Selb and then relocated its location from Hanover to Selb in February 1979. The company thus secured a location in the heart of Europe and thus also formed a logistical center for the European glass market.
2023
In 2023, the time has come and the Krautheim & Adelberg brand will be registered by Bohemia Cristal Trading Company in Selb
in order to revive the tradition of the location and put it in a new light.
