our perspective on responsibility
Both we, as a medium-sized trading company, and our producers in the European glass industry have navigated a wide range of changes in recent years. In the process, we have implemented numerous measures that, in addition to meeting economic requirements, also help us use resources more consciously and further develop our processes.
Together with our suppliers, we intend to continue on this path and continue to explore areas where further opportunities exist for a responsible and resource-efficient approach to materials and processes.
our approach to materials and packaging
As a supplier of household glassware, our primary focus is on reusable products for the dining table, the kitchen, and the living area. When used properly, glass products can be used for a long time and reused multiple times. This makes them suitable, among other things, for applications where plastic or disposable products are also used.
When selecting our producers, we give particular consideration to manufacturers based in Europe. This allows us to account for and plan transportation routes within our supply chain accordingly.
The shipments we organize are planned with available loading capacities in mind. The goal is to utilize transportation capacities as efficiently as possible and to reduce unnecessary empty and partial trips accordingly.
Our producers source a portion of the raw materials they use from regional suppliers. In glass production, recycled glass is also used as a raw material and reintroduced into the production cycle. The production sites are subject to the applicable environmental and production regulations.
When it comes to the packaging used by us and our manufacturers, we focus not only on providing the necessary protection for the products but also on materials such as paper and cardboard. In accordance with the respective packaging concepts and customer specifications, we avoid the use of plastic in our point-of-sale (POS) packaging.

Long-term and reliable business relationships have always been an important part of our corporate philosophy. We have worked with numerous employees and business partners for many years, placing a strong emphasis on continuity and mutual trust. Even during economically challenging times, we have placed a high priority on safeguarding jobs. When selecting and working with our suppliers, we take social aspects into account in addition to economic criteria.
We are committed to ensuring that fundamental social standards are upheld in the manufacturing of our products. Since January 1, 2010, our company has been a member of amfori BSCI. Through this membership, we support the implementation of social standards within international supply chains and adhere to the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct. The requirements set forth in this code include, among other things, the protection of workers’ rights and standards for safe and fair working conditions.
We expect our producers and business partners to comply with applicable laws and regulations and to adhere to the requirements of the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct. These requirements are implemented as part of our collaboration with our respective business partners and suppliers.
Headquartered in Brussels, amfori is an international trade association that supports companies in conducting responsible trade. Among other things, the association helps retailers, importers, and brands to address social and environmental issues in their supply chains and drive corresponding improvements.
